Hat trick Hero Mohammed Salah Helps Roma by Bologna #38

Week 15Score: Roma 3 Bologna
– Stadio Olimpico, Rome

Following Roma’s mid-week victory in the Europa League in Austria Roma would return to Serie A action in their 12th match of this year’s campaign going back home to host Bologna. It would be an important match to get a win after Roma’s win streak ended in disappointing fashion after goalless Draw to Relegation side Empoli. It would allow Juventus to increase their lead at the top. Roma would try to get back on track against Bologna in Rome. It Turned out to be a once sided affair as Roma were the better side throughout the entire game. It would be Salah’s day he kicked off the scoring very early giving Roma the early lead they went into half time with the one goal lead than in the 2nd half he would take over the game scoring two more goals in a very easy 3-0 win at home leaving for this week’s international break in high spirits a bid day for Salah scoring the 1st hatrick in Serie A this season making up for him and Roma’s poor play last week as they continue to chase down Juventus.
Roma manager Luciano Spalletti went with a very similar team that he used in the 4-2 win over Austria Wein in the Europa league Thursday. Spalletti is still trying to figure out his best team after Alexandro Florenzi ACL tear in some ways has not put out the best defense due to lack of options but still done decent enough putting out the right team. They would use the normal 5-4-1 formation despite the draw last week it has still been their best formation that has been very effective no need to panic and change it. The back line of the defense would stay the same as it has the last few games. Rudiger’s return to the starting 11 a few weeks ago gave Roma hope after losing Florenzi he has done quite well thus far but still got a little while to go before he reaches his full capability still hasn’t reach 100 perfect yet when he does he will make a big splash for Roma but has done well Rudiger would start at center back. Fazio Roma’s most consistent starter would start at the other center back. Starting at left back just making his 2nd start since coming off injury one of Roma’s inform players Bruno Peres than on the other side would be Juan Jesus who has kind of been inconsistent he’s been awful at times and brilliant in others. I’m guessing this is the same four we will continue to see for the rest of the season but it’s possible they might switch it around from time to time but this is the main four we will see. They would be a little bit different pair for the defensive midfield Danielle De Rossi would return to the midfield after playing center back in the game on Thursday. Joining him in the defensive midfield would be Kevin Strootmen would replace Paredes after he picked an injury earlier this week as Strootmen would return to the starting lineup with the injury to Paredes likely keeping him out two weeks Strootmen will likely be picked more regularly. Than the attacking midfield unit The Three Headed Monster would be a little different Raji Nainggolan would be deployed as the centermid with Mohammed Salah who would return to the starting 11 after being rested Thursday and Diego Perotti as the wingers. Diego Would be making his 2nd start since returning frim the injury. Than upfront as the lone striker would be the Red Hot Edin Dzeko AKA the Bosnian Tower who scored 2 goals Thursday has 12 goals in all completions this season. Than in goal would be their regular Szczesny. It is a very strong team that should get them the much needed 3 points.
After several games, away from home 2nd Place Roma returned home to face 12th place Bologna. Despite drawing to Empoli in Roma last game the Romans would go in as heavy favorites. Are a much better team than their counter part Roma are the highest scoring team in Serie A as well one of Europe’s best this season lead by Dzeko Salah Perotti and El Shaarawy they can hurt you in so many ways. The match would begin on a Sunday afternoon in Rome. With a seemingly tight race between Ac Milan Roma and Juventus every game counts this would be no different. From the very start of the match Roma were in control of the match winning the possession battle as well as getting in on goal on nearly every chance. The fans at the stadio olimpico didn’t have to wait very long to see a goal after many opportunity very early in the match in the 12th minute Salah would take his chance on a very strong attack near the box Diego Perotti delivered a near perfect pass in the box near Dzeko and Salah, Dzeko would step out of the way so Salah could take the shot from the best angle the Egyptian International hit it with ease the shot would be deflected as Salah would score the goal making it 1-0 in the 1st 15 minutes as Salah would score his 6th goal of the season for Roma. Roma’s offence continued to flourish at a high level but the defense was very suspect at best just didn’t seem that they were playing good enough and understandably so with injuries after injures to their defense they were falling apart. Despite Roma being in control Bologna put immense pressure on the Roman defense putting together some very well balanced attacks. The Roma defense was continuing to be a problem but the keeper remained in fine form making some big saves down the stretch Roma were able to hold off on a response to their early goal as after the 1st half Roma would have a 1-0 lead.
Roma had a fairy good game plan going into the game a pretty good 1st half to say the least but with just Salah’s goal making the difference Roma would need to double it due to the poor play from the defense. The 2nd half would kick off they would be no subs made for Roma. They continued to attack with great success many performed well but Salah was playing the best he ever had in a Roma shirt was dribbling very well making smart passes taken great shots. Than just like that he found the back of the net once again. In the 62nd minute Bruno Peres sent a poor pass than was intercepted but on the next pass Diego Perotti would steal it in a great position sending a through ball into Salah who had a one on one with the goalkeeper putting it away no problem making it 2-0. Salah scoring his 2nd of the game and his 7th goal in Serie A this season. Roma didn’t stop there despite poor defensively display roma was handling there weight they had no answer for the Roma attack. Than it would happen again putting the game away for good less than 10 minutes after Salah’s 2nd he would add a 3rd getting one of the 1st hatricks in Serie A this season scoring his 8th goal of the season. In the 71st Minute Edin Dzeko took a very powerful shot but it would be saved but Salah would pick up the rebound to score his 3rd giving Roma the 3-0 lead. Shortly after El Shaarawy and Gerson would be brought on to get some minutes. After a few more scoring chances from both teams the game would end as a 3-0 Roma win.
Roma would get back to winning ways after disappointing result in the previous game with the win Roma would take back 2nd place reaching 26pts on the season only trail Juventus by 4 points. Salah was huge in this game after struggling lately he’s gotten back in fine form with the hatrick hopefully we see more great things from him going forward. Salah leaves in January for the African Cup of Nations in January so it’s important that Roma get the best out of him in the meantime. Following the victory and International Break Roma head back on the road to face Atalanta a week before the Derby against Lazio. A good team win for Roma hope they keep it going
