Hector Moreno is a player with a lot of experience someone that has played in Europe a large portion of his career. After moving to Mexico City to join UNAM he was in the youth academy for three years prior to making his debut in the first team prior to getting promoted to the UNAM first team he was selected for the Mexico U-17 World Cup squad in Peru Mexico would go on it win the title. It helped him get into the first team he began a rapid progression his talent didn’t go unnoticed he became a rock at the back for UNAM after just one and a half seasons as a regular first team player his European journey would really begin as Dutch side AZ came calling. At just 20 years old he joined AZ his European adventure started to take off he also started getting call ups to the national side. Early into his European career he was mainly used as a sub but would make his contribution. In 2007 he was picked for the U-20 World Cup he would help Mexico win their group but they would eventually get knocked out in the quarterfinals. Despite not winning he showed the world what he can do; he was one of the players of the tournament. At the start of that season couldn’t have started better with AZ as they won the Cyruff shield. He made an impact at AZ but wasn’t considered top level quite yet he would improve each and every week. At the end of his second season in Holland he helped AZ win the league title in the 2007-2008. Hector Moreno Battling Mario Mandžukić During the 2014 World Cup

He continued to be a key player the following two seasons leading up to the 2014 world cup. He was selected for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil he again did well but in Mexico’s Round of 16 loss to Holland he would suffer a major injury that would keep him out for mouths. He would miss six months that season missing a vast majority of the season. It had been sudjested that the injury prevented a move to the premier league move. He only played 19 games in the league in what would be his final season in four years at Espanyol he made 138 appearances scoring 7 goals in that time. Becoming the best defender on Mexico as well as one of the best Center-Backs in south America playing in Spain he developed into one of the best at his position despite flying under the radar. Following the season he was again selected for Mexico’s GOLD CUP squad once again Mexico cruised throughout the tournament meeting the US in the final once again in a hard fought game that went into extra time but Mexico was able to retain the title. In the summer Moreno returned to Holland as he transferred to PSV for 5.5 Million a huge bargain. In his two seasons at PSV he only got better played an absolute massive part in PSV winning the league title in his first season. He scored career high 6 goals in that season during their 2015-2016 title winning season. The next season it was more high quality performances once again putting together another career year scoring 7 goals from the back which was the highest amount for any defender across the Dutch league. Across his career has done really well he has experience across Europe he has won titles he will bring that intensity Roma at least that’s the hope Roma stole a massive player for such a small price despite his age he is worth a lot more.

NEW boy

Hector Moreno Celebrating Winning Eredivisie with PSV

With the addition of Hector it probably means Roma will continue to negotiate the sale of Inter Milan linked Center-back German International Antino Rudiger Roma asking price is 40 Million. Former Roma manager Luciano Spalletti plans to bring reunite with Rudiger at Inter. With the singing of Hector Moreno Roma won’t lose much from the deal the signing will cover their losses despite Rudiger being younger Moreno can play a similar role in the Roma team Roma will be losing a quality player but Roma have signed a more experienced player to do the job. It would be great if they could hold on to him but if Inter capture the defender Roma won’t be at a loss Hector Moreno has been around and has that champions league experience that can be very helpful to the team especially this season . Roma new manager Eusebio Di Francesco typically plays a 4-3-3 formation something that he has stuck with most of the time when at Sassuolo doesn’t really mix it up to much that formation seems to work well in his system however sometimes he plays three at the back. Moreno will either play as a center back or a right-back Fazio and Manolas are both center backs and all three are likely to start together so one of them will likely have to push out to the wing depending on how they want to lineup to look. Roma will have a lot a depth defensively first off Roma have the three I’ve mentioned in Moreno, Manolas and Fazio. Than they also have Alexandro Florenzi coming off injury who can play all four defensive positions and can be also used as a midfielder or attacker. Roma have activated the purchase options on the loan deals of Bruno Peres and Juan Jesus; both of them can play defense Bruno sometimes plays midfield as well but he is a capable defender also while Juan can be a very decent starter also can be an excellent sub as he showed last season. Emerson when he recovers from his injury also can play that defensive role as well. The Romans now are very deep at the position with or without Rudiger. They have so many options they can potentially use the signing only will make this defense more difficult to score against. Moreno brings not only experience and leadership but brings a fair amount of skills aswell. The scouting report on him sheds a lot of light on how can he can be for Roma. He is very strong at holding the ball he is a strong passer pretty exceptional at crosses much like Rudiger he also has incredible focus and concentration which will be a great asset to the team. Tends to play the ball off the ground in a lot of situations and is very skilled at indirect free kicks. A very intelligent player roma have got their hands on for what Roma paid this could be one of the bargains of the summer. WELCOME HOME
