Roma vs Qarabag Preview #110

The Champions League is back As Roma prepare for their second match in group C of this year’s champions league campaign. High flying Roma head to uncharted territory as the go on the road to face Qarabağ FK Azerbaijani’s first ever champions league team in the countries history. Roma come into this match in great form having beat three games in a row outscoring the opposition over the last three matches 10-1. Benvento,Udinese,Hellas Verona  weren’t the biggest of teams but you can only beat what’s in front of you. Roma currently find themselves in 4th in the league with 12points with a game back. Roma did quite well in their first games of their champions league journey earning 0-0 grind it out draw against Champions league Semi finalists Atletico Madrid it a game where Roma’s keeper Alisson Becker was outstanding making 9 saves and earning him a place on Champions League’s TEAM OF THE WEEK. Meanwhile Qarabağ FK have done very well in the Azerbaijani Premier league having won 5 out of 5 to start their season as they attempt to retain the title it isn’t a league that is very difficult in comparison to the BEAST that his Serie A. Qarabag’s first experience of champions league football was one to forget as Chelsea ripped them apart as the Premier League champions won 6-0. In the Roma game I have a hard time believing that we will see a much different score line I’m not sure if Roma will get six but the Romans have much more quality and have world class players that Qarabağ with have to deal with. There biggest issue with me how to handle the Roman Scoring machine that is Edin Dzeko who can score goals for fun having scored 21 goals in his last 21 games in the league the Golden Boot winner has allready 6 goals this season. Standing at 6’5 he is a player that will take a heroic performance to stop. I’m unsure what Roma team we will see as Eusebio Di Francesco has been consistently been making changes to the side having done plenty of rotations as far as what he will put out on Wednesday I have no idea but it will be a very strong side with the likes of Nainggolan and Dzeko it will be very strong. I think it would be wise to go with the same front three of Diego Perotti, Edin Dzeko and Stephen El Shaarawy. It would give Roma the speed on the wings to break down the Qarabag  defence I don’t believe they have the ability to slow down the speed of El Shaarawy and Perotti. El Shaarawy is a must start in this game I don’t care how much better we are he should be starting most games this past weekend he stole the show he was clinical and got himself it great position scoring two goals in 15 minutes he is in good form at the moment so i see him start yet again say what you want about him but on his day he is impossible to deal with. Roma’s defense also his very strong this year with Alisson and his defense having a clean sheet in all but 2 games this season. I doubt they will be able to score but if they do its going to come down to Dino Ndlovu he is Qarabag only chance Roma are simply too strong.
