World Cup Qualifier United States vs Panama #114

The United States try and punch their ticket to Russia this summer with possibly their most crucial game of qualifying. As The Americans find themselves in a not ideal position being on the verge of missing the world cup for the first time since 1986. United States find themselves 4th in their qualifying group only accumulating 9 points through 8 games in what would be considered a very mediocre group by most. The United States has also has a horrid goal difference as the Americans have score 12 goals and conceded 11 a not very good track record to have in the late stages of qualifying. Bruce Arenas side winless in their last two games failing to win against North American Mino’s Honduras and being outclassed against 2014 World Cup Quarterfinalists Costa Rica they are in very poor form at the moment as they realize the real danger of missing out on Russia. The United States go up against surprise package Panama a side that has been quality in qualifying as they sit one place above the Americans with 10 points from eight games. Despite a lack of goals thus far Panama have only been scored on 5 times as they continue to build their team on a solid defense. However they don’t have a lack of scoring about despite USA having scored more goals Panama has been able to pooch points off Allready qualified Mexico and 2nd place Costa Rico who have nearly qualified themselves. The two sides faced back on March 28th in Panama City where they shared the points. Given the current situation this becomes a must win game for the United States even a draw will be dooms day for their world cup bid. The two World Cup hopefuls face off in Orlando Florida where the USA will have home advantage but the question do they really have the advantage? Going to into the match I think Panama are the favorites here because of their ability to defend USA do have home advantage but they are just in horrid form as of the late. The Americans do have the superior team without a shadow of a doubt but are at a tactical disadvantage because of their poor management. Bruce Arena has done nothing but take steps back from Kilmsman. It was time for a change but the appointment was a rash decision Area has never done anything to deserve a job like this and early in the job you could tell. He doesn’t have the tactical genius needed in an international management job. This is another reason the USA are at a disadvantage here he does have the team make the world cup and will have to rely on their stars. Such as Dortmund’s Christan Pulsisc he is the only major star power the United States have but they have other decent players around him that could maybe do something the outcome of this game will come down to how well he plays. If Dempsey starts this game he a can make a major impact of the game as well as he scored in this fixture the first time around and one more goal will make him the All time scorer in history. On the other side we see a Panama team that is well coached well organized and strong in the back this could be a recipe for disaster. Not to mention that Panama on the verge of their first ever world cup they have the incentive that the USA don’t have. The Home advantage will be massive for the United States but I just don’t trust them right now I think we will see a Draw here the US have just have not been in good enough to form to beat a team with twice the amount of desire which will only make the USA road to Russia even more complicated as we could see them eliminated if they don’t get a good result I hope I’m wrong because I want to see them in Russia this summer but I just don’t believe in this team.
