Roma vs Torino Preview #121

Following a mid-week thriller in a come from behind 3-3 draw against Chelsea in London Roma look to keep that momentum going as they return to Serie A for their 8th match of their league campaign. Coming off a disappointed narrow 1-0 loss to top table Napoli last weekend. Roma will go on the road to face Torino at the Stadio Grande Torino in Turin. Last season these two teams met twice with each team winning once however the last time these two teams faced up it was 4-1 demolition of Torino as Roma coasted to a very easy victory largely because they were able to slow down Torino’s star striker Andréa Belotti. Despite Torino getting a win off Roma this is a very one sided affair most of the time in the last 25 years Torino have only managed three victories as well as just one loss to Torino in their last 15 meetings. I don’t see this going any differently this time around despite Torino doing pretty well for themselves as they find themselves in 8th but they have coughed up leads this season Torino is an average team with a great striker. Roma are coming off a thrilling 3-3 draw against Chelsea in the champions league a game where they came back from 2-0 down. Roma will go into this game with great confidence expecting to win the Romans want to respond to their loss to Napoli as well this is a chance to get right back on track. Much like last year Roma have one job in this game neutralize Andréa Bellotti when he is on form he is one of the best strikers in the league . He has started a little slowly this season with just three goals this season but last year he did the same and he still scored 28 goals. He will still pose a threat Eusebio Di Francesco’s job will be stopping that without him Torino are a relegation team so If Roma are able to slow him they brush them off quite easily. Sadly for Torino even if Belotti comes into the game in the form of his life Roma has the weapons to counter what Bellotti has and have quality players to give Torino’s defense nightmares. Edin Dzeko has 10 goals in 10 games for Roma this season. The Bosnian scored twice against Chelsea to help Roma back from down two to earn a point it London. Dzeko continues to perform at the highest level and is proving to be one of the best strikers in football. However Dzeko is just a part of what Roma can bring forward Kolarov and Perotti were also unsung hero’s in that game against cheslea. Not to mention Roma has one of the best midfielders in the world in Radja Nainggolan as well as many others. Roma do have some injury issues still but Roma have gotten Kevin Strootman,Stephen El Shaarawy back and according to what I have heard Patrick Schick and Rick Karsdorp will be available soon. Id like to see Roma go with a similar team they put out against Chelsea I would like to see Gerson get another start he really impressed me on Wednesday night I’m glad EDF has been given him the opportunity he wasn’t even given a chance under Spalletti so I’m happy to see him getting a chance to show us how good he can be he played well in a huge game the ability is certainly there. Manolas and Emerson will remain OUT but Simply put even if Bellotti is at his best Roma have too much quality for Torino. As I see Eusebio Di Francesco and Roma keeping the momentum going.
