Roma vs Crotone Preview #123

Coming off a hard fought win against Torino in Turin just a few days ago. Roma are back at it again in a mid-week fixture as they return home to face off against relegation threated Crotone. Roma stand in 5th with 18 points but are still a game behind everyone having a game cancelled earlier this season so if they are to win the game in hand they really only are a few points from the top. FC Crotone are back for a second season in Serie A after one of the most impressive attempts at survival we have seen in Italian football. Last season these clubs faced off for the first time in history with Roma winning on both occasions. In a 4-0 Roma victory at home which was a game we saw Dzeko’s get his first hat trick of the season. In the away fixture Roma won 2-0 away from home. Crotone have never scored against Roma and will find this game quite difficult. Crotone are coming off an embarrassing 5-0 loss to Sampdoria at the weekend. The Rossoblu are not the poorest side this season but none the less they have struggled to get points earlier in the season. Meanwhile in Rome Roma have flourished well under new manager Eusebio Di Francesco earning wins in all but two matches and both of their losses could of easily gone the other way not to mention their inspirational performance against Chelsea. Simply put Crotone doesn’t have the tools to be able to deal with what Roma can bring forward in this game. We could see some new changes once again Di Francesco gave new signing Hector Moreno his fist start last week we will do the same with Karsdorp. Defender Rick Karsdorp who Roma bought from Feyenoored have recovered from his injury and will start the game tomorrow making his first appearance for the club according EDF Patrik Schick is fit again but will ease him back into the rotation. Manolas still is out as well as Defrel but Roma have a lot of depth and I think we are going to see it in this game. As far as the game its self this should be very easy work for Roma but they still must take it seriously. Aleksandar Kolarov has scored in two games in a row I see him as a major factor in this game. Roma also have the likes of Edin Dzeko and Radja Nainggolan to their disposal as well as many other weapons who can make plays. This is the type of a game where we may see some youngsters Gerson and Cengiz Under get a good run out. I think this is the game where Dzeko will score multiple goals he had a hat trick in this fixture last season he will be very dangerous a big threat in this game. Eusebio Di Francesco has too many options going forward for the Crotone attack to really challenge and put up a fight. Roma is also one of the best defensive teams in Italy with a very strong defense and a excellent goalkeeper in Alisson . Crotone are just overmatched in every way even at their best they will struggle to get anything from the Romans as Roma should find life quite easy.
