Roma vs Bologna Preview #124

YW

Following Roma’s mid-week fixture victory against Crotone at home Roma will play their second games in many days. Coming off back to back victories over Torino and Crotone Roma will welcome Bologna to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night in Italy’s capital. The two sides meet twice during last seasons Serie A campaign with Roma being victorious on both occasions. Roma also have seen great success against them in the last few years Roma are unbeaten in their last 5 against Bologna. This is another team that Eusebio Di Francesco and Roma should be able to get past quite easily. The big news going into this fixture is the injury bug has hit Roma again. Roma Debutant Rick Karsdorp who made his first appearance on Wednesday night picked up a major Injury. The Dutch defender was examined after feeling some pains in his knee in the second half against Crotone. It was discovered that the young defender has ruptured his Anterior cruciate ligament or for a better word ACL. He becomes the 8th Roma player to suffer an ACL tear in 18 months just rotten luck. I am absolutely heartbroken about this I really liked what he brought to the team and was looking forward to see him more frequently this season. He will be sidelined for 8 mouths to recover he is a young lad and I believe he will come back stronger then ever but sad none the less. Fortunately for Roma they will see the return of Emerson and Kostas Manolas very soon so it will give Roma a very more defensive options going forward its still very sad news non the less but Roma have the coverage to deal with it. I think we could also see the return of Patrik Schick to the first team as he is been declared fit I reckon he will come off the bench on Sunday. On Wednesday Roma put out an under strength squad I think we could see Roma do the same again. Roma play Chelsea in the champions league on Tuesday night because of this I think players will be rested again infact I wouldn’t be surprised if Roma plays close to the same team as they did on Wednesday. I think changes will be made but I see Roma playing some of youngsters again. The game itself should sway into Roma’s favor. Roma are the much better side with several quality players that on paper will make this look one sided. I don’t see Roma blowing them away but I see a good 2-0 result possibly. Roma have the best defense in Italy at the moment and Serie A clean sheet leading Alisson doesn’t let in many goals. When he is challenged he is capable of making the big save he has more saves this season then David De Gea to put things in perspective. it will come down to the attack. I expect Dzeko and Nainggolan to all be there I also fancy El Shaarawy to start as well I think this is the game Dzeko gets back on the score sheet so with these stars in the team it should nothing but a win for Roma . Roma surly have enough in their locker to cruise to what should be an easy win. I hope to see Cengiz and Gerson back in the team again games like these are great chances for the younger players to get game time. Roma shouldn’t have too much trouble as I see this Roma getting another shutout with another three points being secured for the Giallorossi
