Roma vs Qarabağ Preview Match Day Six #141

good enough for me

Champions League football is back and we have reached the last game of the group now everything is on the line for one last match day before we get to the business portion of the competition. At it stands Roma are in second in the group with 8 points with still everything up for grabs. Roma can actually still win the group despite Chelsea’s win last week. Roma win group with a win against Qarabag and a Chelsea loss but Roma will still qualify win a win against Qarabag regardless. When Roma played them in Azerbaijan at Qarabag’s Baku Stadium Roma came away as 2-1 winners it should be no different this time around. Roma got back into winning ways in Serie A this week with a sensational 3-1 dominating win as Roma had Serie A high 37 shots and 15 that were on target. It was a truly special game as Dzeko got out of his slump scoring his first goal since October 18th in that 3-3 thriller against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Also we saw Lorenzo Pellegrini score his first Roma goal a dream for the Roma Academy Product. With Dzeko back on Form this makes Roma a even more dangerous side adding another goal scoring option that had seem to non existent over the last month. With Dzeko firing again it makes Roma just that much tougher this was allready going to be tough but with Dzeko back in form it will just add fuel to the fire. Roma will be at home for this one as they prepare to open the doors to the Stadio Olimpico to their guests the as Azerbaijan champions make the trip to Roma to take on second place Roma a game in which will become about Pride Qarabağ will finish bottom regardless but to be fair to them they did a lot better then what was expected them. Simply put Roma just need to win a win will guarantee a play in the next round ideally we would like for Atletico to win their game as well so we can win the group but if we through it wont matter that much. Radja Nainggolan and Diego Perotti will in all likelihood return to Roma’s starting 11 after being rested against SPAL on Friday. In addition to that Emerson returned last week from his ACL injury coming on for the last 10 minutes he will be available to play but I still don’t see him starting the game. Also Danielle De Rossi who is serving a ban in Serie A is eligible to play the game because its a champions league match. I think Dzeko and Perotti could be very key in this game as well as Florenzi and Kolarov pushing forward from the back and Nainggolan the catalyst of the midfield Roma just have way to much quality for Roma not to breeze thorough it. I See Pellegrini getting another start and we could see Patrick Schick get a good chunk of minutes to get a little more used to the game plan after missing a good amount with injury. I’m not sure if Roma will win the group but Surely this doesn’t end in anything but three points for Eusebio Di Francesco and his Roman army.
