As Transfer wizard Monchi as secured another players future in the capital. Monchi has delivered on several signings and contract deals it is clear he desires to make Roma into a force this season and beyond. Despite losing Salah to Liverpool among others Monchi signed 9 players with the money he got from Liverpool buy some real quality players as well as young potential. Also giving new deals to Kevin Strootman, Danielle De Rossi, Radja Nainggolan, Federico Fazio and most recently Kostas Manolas. Diego Perotti who has had a career year had his current deal set to expire at the end of the season. He will be extending his deal to the 2021 season signing a brad new two year extension. An elated Perotti spoke on his new deal

“To be honest, I’ve felt like an important part of this team ever since my first game against Sassuolo I didn’t play so much in the last six months of last season, but I stuck at it. I’ve always played regularly in my career – sometimes I’ve done well and other times my performances haven’t been so good, but I’ve always given it everything I’ve got I had been waiting for that moment for a long time,” Perotti admitted. “It had only happened to me before when I was at Genoa, because they never sang for me like that at Sevilla either. It was something I felt was missing I know it’s a big thing when a legendary fan base like Roma’s sings the name of a particular player. It was a wonderful feeling so I didn’t want to go off! I wanted to come back on so I could listen to it all again and again.
“I want to say a big thank you to all the fans because it was very emotional.”

Perotti scored the game winner in Roma Legend Francesco Totti’s last game in what he describes as the most important goal he will ever score

“It was a fantastic goal to score for Francesco because he was my team-mate and I was lucky to play with the best player in the history of Roma. He deserved to bow out with a win so I think that’s definitely going to be the most important goal I ever score.”
Perotti has certainly enjoyed a number of fine moments in his two years at the club so far: notably scoring in the last minute of the last game last season to confirm the club’s place in this season’s Champions League – and then scoring the only goal on Tuesday night as Roma qualified for the last-16 of the same competition.

You know

The Boca Juniors youth player started his career with Sevilla signing in 2007 he would play for the clubs affiliate Sevilla Atletico in the second division of Spain briefly playing for them for a year in a half successfully playing in 53 games scoring three goals in one and a half seasons. He was called up to the Sevilla first team in February of the 2008-2009 season where he would get the chance to work with now Roma teammate Federico Fazio and current Sporting Director Monchi. Perotti only made 14 appearances that season scoring just one goal but that goal happened to be the biggest goal of their season as the Argentine scored a 90th minute winner against Deprotivo to secure a 3rd place finish as they would get a return to the champions league sound familiar? Sevilla finished 3rd with 70 points that season . The following season Perotti would play a much more important role playing 41 games scoring 5 goals helping Sevilla to a disappointing 4th place in La Liga in the 2009-2010 season finish Sevilla would go out in the Round of 16 of the 2009-2010 champions league to CSKA Moscow however they would still be a trophy to win. As Sevilla beat Barcelona(League Champions), Deprotivo, Getafe on the way to the Copa Del Rey Final to meet Atletico Madrid. They would pull off the upset 2-0 as Perotti played all 90 minutes in the final winning his first trophy with the club. The next season in 2010-2011 Perotti had another great season scoring four goal but once again Sevilla struggled to make the champions league with another 5th place finish. Over the next two seasons Perotti struggled to get the amount games he was getting the two seasons prior Sevilla also struggled in the league falling out of the top 5 that was until the 2013-2014 season. The team got it together Sevilla got 5th that season and despite playing just 17 games in his last season at the Ramón Sánchez Stadium he was apart of the team that made the Europa league final. In that Europa League campaign Sevilla won their group following that got past Maribor in the Round Of 16 then past Derby Rivals Real Betis in the Round Of 16 Porto In Quarterfinals and Valencia in the semi finals. Sevilla would earn a place in the final as they came up against Benfica at Juventus Stadium in Turin. Sevilla won 4-3 in a shootout after 0-0 after 120 minutes despite not playing in the game Perotti got a winners medal. After the season a move away from Spain for Perotti would become a reality.

After 7 years in 159 Appearances  scoring 16 goals for Sevilla it was time for a change  as he wasn’t apart of Sevilla’s Emery’s plans so the midfielder jumped ship. In the Summer of 2014 Perotti signed for Italian club Genoa for an undisclosed fee on a four year deal. Perotti was excellent in that debut season as he flourished in his first season of Italian football Genoa became dark horses in that first season much behind Perotti’s excellence Perotti scored 4 goals in 27 appearances during that first season. Genoa finished sixth that season ahead of the BIG Milan clubs as Genoa finished ahead of both Inter Milan and AC Milan. After a great season for Genoa the team struggled mid way through the season Genoa was closer to the bottom then the top. Genoa’s poor form in the league opened the eyes of New Roma Luciano Spalletti who and returned as Roma boss for the second time. The Romans had just signed AC Milan Winger Stephen El Shaarawy and were looking to sign one more midfielder before the January window . Diego Perotti would join A.S Roma on Loan with 9Million buy option. In one and a half seasons Perotti managed 45 appearances scoring 5 goals. He had now earned the right to play for one of the biggest clubs in Italy he signed with Roma rejecting AC Milan in the process. Perotti would score his first game for Roma  just six days after signing as he scored the winner against Sampdoria. Perotti scored two more times that season as well as dishes out a few assists as he help Roma go from 5th to 3rd Under Spalletti earning 80 points that season. After the season was over Roma bought him for 9Million after his loan expired. The next season would be a career year for Perotti and Roma. It didn’t start all that well after losing to Porto 4-1 over two legs in the champions league qualifier but it would get better. Saying Roma improved would have been an understatement Roma would be an unstoppable force for most of the season however Juventus was always one step ahead. Despite that Roma put together one of their best seasons in recent memory largely behind Dzeko who scored 29 goals in the league and 39 goals in total. Perotti scored a career high 10 goals but he grew frustrated as late in the season he was picked less and less a complete fazed out by Spalletti as least late in the year. However with the last automatic champions league spot up for grabs on the last day of the season needed a win to get it he came up in the seasons biggest moment on Totti’s last ever game. In the 90th Minute at 2-2 Perotti scored the winner after coming on as sub to score the biggest goal of his life as he sent off Totti’s historic career.  Roma set records for the most points in a Season (87) Most Goals in a season (90) most away wins (11) most league wins (28) as well as Dzeko setting records for most goals in the league (29) and Most goals in a single season for a Roma player (39). Roma finished second just points off Juventus but what a season it was. Over the summer Roma saw Spalletti leave for Inter as Di Francesco came in as well as Mouhamed Salah and Antonio Rudiger leaving for England. Despite all that Roma are just as good as they were last year and Perotti has been a major piece to Di Francesco’s team after admitting he could of left if Spalletti stayed due to him being Fazed out. He has been scoring some big goals scored against in the Derby scored against Chelsea in both meetings and scored the goal to send Roma to the Round of 16 of the champions league winning the group in the process. He has shown he can score in the big games Perotti has scored 5 goals allready this season as he is in for a career year he is been nothing short of special this season.  say what you will he is a massive part of this strong Roma team the Argentine better be picked for the world cup he certainly as earned it he is Pivotal to Roma and what they can achieve this season.
