Roma vs Sampdoria Preview (Part 2) #168

HOLDING

After Roma’s recent 1-1 draw with Sampdoria on Wednesday night the two sides prepare to face off once again. Once again Roma was hit with controversy in the VAR system that would have deny them the three points. It was a much-improved performance from the last few weeks but it would take a 90th minute header from Edin Dzeko for Roma to salvage a point. That could have been Edin Dzeko’s final moments as a Roma player. The strikers alleged move to Chelsea had hit a roadblock in the negotiations but now it appears the deal could be done very shortly. Due to the fact that Roma  is preparing negotiations with Celtic for Moussa Dembele as a possible replacement and according to reports they are also negotiating with Tottenham for a possible return of Erik Lamela. This time the match is in Rome as the two teams are ready for another battle. With everything that is going on I think Roma will find this game much easier than they did in the match in Genoa. Roma dominated much of that game showed more of The Cutting Edge that this team has lacked over the last few weeks where they have failed to win in their last five league matches. if Roma plays like that again I am certain that Roma can get out of the rut and pick up all three points. although I have said this the last two games I’m still unsure if Dzeko will be in the team for this match if he is still a Roma player I think he will start but if his deal to Chelsea goes through Patrik Schick will likely start up front. This is something that I’m looking forward to because he has so much talent he just needs to be given the time to deliver. Eusebio Di Francesco I believe is likely to go with a very similar team since they did so well together on Wednesday. Lorenzo Pellegrini was sensational and the prospect Cengiz Under also performed very well I think once again he will go with a youthful lineup although I can see him bringing into De Rossi into the lineup I also could see either El Shaarawy or Perotti start on one of the Wings. I think Roma will have a huge advantage in this game being at home and wanting to get back into winning ways desperately they will be ready for the challenge especially given their poor form and the status of the League table . I have no doubts that Alisson and the defense will be in Top Gear for this match they have been nothing short of special the last few weeks despite conceding a few goals they are the strongest unit in Italian football in my opinion . I would also like to see Mirko Antonucci get another substitute appearance as he was remarkable in his debut I think once again he can make an impact Off the Bench. As far as the game goes I believe Roma if they go with the same game plan as they did in Genoa and they execute a little better they will Coast to a victory something they have not tasted in quite a while.
