Roma vs Hellas Verona Preview #170

Following Roma’s recent loss at the hands of Sampdoria to put their season in even more  danger. They are continuing to make their battle for top 4 increasingly difficult. Fortunately Inter Milan have been equally bad so there still is something to fight for it certainly is not over but it’s starting to look like 4th is there best case scenario. They are prepared to take on a relegation threatened Hellas Verona for the second time this season to try to break their winless streak that currently stands at 7. Roma have already beaten them this season hanging a four goals on them in their first meeting in Rome. This is a game Roma simply put have to win there’s no excuses. Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco is now on the hot seat these next few games are very important he can get himself right out of it. I don’t want him to go he is definitely the guy to take us forward we just have to work on some things to make some improvements on our current form. Despite a lot of the negativity lately there has been some positive things that have recently come out. Edin Dzeko appears that he will be staying after talks with Chelsea broke down the two sides were in a negotiation battle as Chelsea wanted to swoop for Emerson who has now left the club and Dzeko who looks like he will remaining here. Roma also are on the verge of making a deadline signing of Daley Blind from Manchester United. As far as the game itself this is a game Roma just cannot lose despite Verona’s big win in Florence last week Roma’s quality should be too much for them to deal with. It is true that Roma’s finishing has been very poor the last few months but given what Roma have despite all that they should be able to get through with a win this is their best chance to jump start their season. They have a few very easy results coming up it’s important for Roma to get a win so their confidence can improve the more confident this team is the better they will do they need to taste victory again for that to happen. I think we will see a very similar team to the one we saw last week. Patrik Schick has picked up a training injury and will be out for 3 weeks unfortunately however we could see Diego Perotti return to the starting 11 for this very important Clash. This match will be played away from home which should benefit Roma as they’ve looked better away from home this season. Roma needs to address their scoring issues now they’re giving a platform to do it. I see Lorenzo Pellegrini as a big impact player in this game he’s been one of the only players during the stretch who has been very consistent throughout. There’s no doubt in my mind that Roma should win this it’s no longer a choice they simply cannot lose they must taste victory on Sunday.
