Roma sporting director Monchi has the reputation as one of the best in the transfer market as he brought Cengiz Under,Pellagrini and Kolarov for Cheap last year. This year he really isn’t messing around after a 3rd place finish and a champions league semi final appearance last year he has wasted no time pulling strings for a improvement in year 2 of Monchi’s Roma Project. Roma have allready secured the services of Young Croatian talent Ante Coric who is considered the next Luka Modric for just a measly 6 Million. He followed that up with Signing Experienced defender from Porto Marcano for FREE as he joined upon his expiring contract. Monchi has just pulled off another massive signing this morning as he beat Chelsea,Aresnal,Spurs,Inter Milan and Juventus to the punch as Bryan Cristante Agrees to Roma on a 5-Year deal. Roma has been in discussions with Atalanta for several weeks as well as having held talks with Cristante’s representatives and his Agent before ultimately agreeing to the move to the capital City. Bryan Cristante flew to Rome for his medical examination upon his move as he arrived at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport on Wednesday afternoon to finalize his move to Roma. The Former AC Milan Scarlet Joins on an Initial Loan for 5Million as a part of the agreement Roma will have to buy him outright following the season for 15Million the Midfielder will also receive up to 10 Million in bonuses once certain targets are met together the deal will cost 30-35 Million. Roma will only be required to cover the 5Million loan upfront as the other payments will come after the season was essentially Roma got him for 5Million for this year. Last year he was on loan at Atalanta from Benfica Atalanta had to activate the purchase option before the sale to Roma. Bryan Cristante Scored 12 goals and supplied 5 Assists last season. Upon his arrival he claimed that Rome is where he wanted to be. “I am very pleased, because coming to Roma was always my aim, there was a strong willingness, both on my part and from the club, to find an agreement, and we managed to do that very quickly. I am confident that I will be able to do my best and make a big contribution to this club.” As Roma’s new midfielder spoke about his move. Monchi also spoke on the new signing on the highest regard. “With the signing of Bryan, Roma have acquired one of the most promising central midfielders in Italian football,” Roma sporting director Monchi said. “In the future we hope he will become one of the pillars of Roma and the national team.” Another great signing by Monchi as Roma are not messing around this season. Roma also are in deep negotiations with Ajax for Justin Kluivert as Roma has agreed on a 18 Million deal with Ajax and the player has agreed on personal terms as he seems to be the next one coming as another deal is on the verge of being wrapped up. Mochi is creating a force in Rome.
Bryan Cristante is regarded as one of the most promising Midfielders in Italian football as Mochi poached another star he had interest from Spurs,Aresnal,Inter,Juve and Chelsea but Monchi worked his magic to pull this on off. He has finally earned a move to a big club after teams in the past having given up on him. Cristante started his career having played youth football for his local team Liventina Gorghense a amateur club in the Province of Treviso. Cristante spent three years playing for his local team from 2006-2009. In 2009 he was swayed away as he joined Italian Giants A.C Milan. He joined their youth system as he looked to developed in talent he moved to Milan to join the Rossoneri. He was a member of the under-15 squad who won the Campionato Giovanissimi Nazionali in 2010,scoring eight goals as well as a member of the under-17 side who won the Campionato Allievi Nazionali in 2011. We saw the ability and the talent it was all there he spent he spent about 4 years mulling in the AC Milan youth. However he did make one appearance in 2011 for Milan against Viktoria Plzeň in the champions League becoming the 3rd youngest player to ever making his debut at 16 Years 278 days old.
The following season he continued to play with the reserves as he didn’t make a single appearance for Milan the following season. Prior to making his return to the team he was elected the best player during the Torneo di Viareggio in 2013 which is a very important youth tournament he was showing his ability even though he turned out going slightly unnoticed. He officially joined Milan’s senior team for the 2013-2014 season but he was rarely used as he only played 4 games scoring just one goal. AC Milan kind of gave up on him that team wasn’t one of the great AC Milan teams of the past there was no reason why he shouldn’t have been given more of a chance to prove himself that would be it in the RED of Milan as a move was about to come a reality. Portuguese Champions S.L Benfica signed the youngster in the 2014-2015 season. He made 15 appearances scoring once in that first season. It still seemed that he lacked the support needed they didn’t really back him. He spent the next two years in Italy spending loan Spells playing for Pescara and Palermo. He returned to Benfica only to be loaned out again going to Atalanta on a short term loan. Cristante finally had the luxury to show was he is capable of the immense talent and potential he has. He made 12 appearances scoring 3 goals after not having scored of a few seasons. Atalanta took him on loan for a second season. This last season he was their best player and one of the most promising midfielders in Italy he scored 12 goals and dished out 5 assists in 47 appearances for Atalanta he was a big part of their team last year as he helped them get back into Europe with a 7th place finish in Serie A as well finishing in the top of their group in the Europa league. He became a revelation last season he finally got to show his tremendous ability he scored more goals then an Italian midfielder last season. He had plenty of offers this summer but choose Roma as he joins a team that are mounting a title challenge.
Monchi adds yet another weapon to the Roma’s arsenal this move signals Roma intent to challenge for the Scudetto. Bryan Cristante adds to an allready stacked midfield which means it could mean the departure of Kevin Strootman or Lorenzo Pellegrini. I love all three of them but its part trusting the process and Monchi plans to build the best team possible and if that means having to sell then so be it. Bryan Cristante was the best Italian midfielder in the league last year. Roma spent a good amount fighting off Juventus and some premier league clubs in the process for his signature. He light it up last year in Serie A no matter what happens or what formation Roma play this man can not any under circumstances come off the bench. Bryan Cristante is a starting player with star potential and ability. Radja Nainggolan and Bryan Cristante together would be an incredible duo they will be deadly together. Their wiliness to make their presence known on both sides of the ball in the attack and defensively will make them a nightmare to go up against. The Depth and ability in the midfield is tremendous. He joins an allready strong midfield with Nainggolan,Strootman,De Rossi, Pellegrini as well as Coric who was their clubs first signing. Roma also are looking to bring in Hakim Ziyech if they are able to pull that deal off Roma would have Radja Nainggolan, Bryan Cristante and Hahim Ziyech in the three man midfield. I may be getting a little a head of myself here but this is a massive deal in terms of what he can contribute to this team. This may lead to some key players leaving but Roma will follow Monchi’s plan to get this team to the next level and he is certain on his way of doing that with bringing Cristante to Rome. Cristante is an excellent finisher which is one of the most important quality as Roma struggled in that area last season a finisher is exactly what they team needed. When he has his chances he will take advantage he will be a crucial part of the Roman attack from day 1. Cristante is also an excellent passer and dribbler with really good vison he is very efficient. Unlike Radja Nainggolan his style is quick short passing to create an attack the two should complement each other very well. Not to mention Cristante he is a superb defender he’s not as aggressive as Nainggolan but has great tackling ability. Also can be dangerous in the air in aerial duels it is easily one of best in Serie A. Bryan Cristante is highly skilled and highly intelligent player that will make this Roma team even better next year making Eusebio Di Francesco’s side one to be fear in years to come.
You have just arrived at Roma: your first thoughts?
“They are only good – starting with the reception I got at the airport. The city does not need to introduce itself, and neither does the club; I saw straight away that the club has a clear and professional approach during the negotiations.”
The club really wanted you…
“Yes, they made it clear how much they wanted me. There was the same desire on my part, and in so we were able to find an agreement at the beginning of the transfer window. So I am very satisfied. It was my aim to come here and I have been able to sort it out very quickly.”
You are only 23 yet you have already played around Italy and in Europe: what have these experiences given you?
“I think that every experience brings with it something positive that allows you to improve: both the positive ones and the tougher moments. As a young player I have already had the fortune to play outside Italy, and that experience really gave me a lot.”
How do you judge your time with Atalanta?
“It was a great experience, a brilliant year or so. I need to say thank you for this to everyone, from the coaches to the club and the city itself. I felt settled immediately and was able to show my best form almost straight away. So I can only say thank you to everyone for that.”
What do you think you can give to Roma?
“I think I can give everything there is to give, and repay the faith that the club has shown in me. This was not a decision made lightly, just plucked from the air – there was a logic and calm thought behind my decision. I am sure that I will be able to do my best and give everything I have.”
What does it mean to have the chance to play in the Champions League again?
“The Champions League is every player’s target. From when I first started playing as boy, the dream was always to play in that competition and it still is now. I am pleased to have the chance to play in it again. Roma showed this season that they are right at the highest level, and so next season we want to repeat that.”
Is there also excitement at the possibility of tasting great European nights at the Olimpico?
“Definitely. Everyone knows that the city has a special passion for football and certainly the idea and the target is to deliver nights like that.”
Have you had the chance to speak with Monchi and Eusebio Di Francesco?
“I spoke with both of them: they welcomed me to the club and explained why they wanted me on board. I could only say thank you to them for giving me this chance.”
Do you want to send a message to the Roma fans?
“I just want to say thank you, because I have already got a taste of their passion for the club – through the welcome at the airport and the messages I’ve got on social. From my perspective, I can just say I will give everything I have – in every game and every training session.”
“Everyone knows that this city has a special passion for football. It was my aim to come here… I will give everything I have.” – Bryan Cristante
