Ranking Roma’s Young Prospects Part 1 #303

Roma have proven over the last several years to have an exceptional collection of young talent. With the additions that have been to this team this summer Roma have gotten younger and a lot better since last season. Roma have a core of youngsters that will without a doubt lead this Roma team to Multiple titles here are the top best young prospects

10. William Bianda

Age: 18
Position: Center Back
Previous Club: Lens

Kicking off this list we start with William Bianda the defender recently joined from lens for just 5 million. The exceptionally talented 18 year became the first Roma signing to be born after the year 2000. At 18 years old he has the opportunity and the chance to learn under this exceptional Roma defense that features season veterans Alexandro Florenzi Kostas Manolas Federico Fazio and Alex Kolarov. The France International was featured in the 2017 under-17 European championships and the 2017 under-17 World Cup. He is viewed as one of the most talented prospects at his position in French football. He mainly plays center back what can play outside on occasion. He will be mentored by and learn from Fazio and Manolas as he tried to learn the trade of Center back in Italian football. He’s certainly someone that Roma can count on it a future as he continues to get better and learn under the tutelage of DeFrancesco extremely talented kid who will be one to watch in the future he may not get a lot of game time this season but when he’s called on he will be ready. Definitely a player you want to keep your eyes on in the future.

9. Nicolò Zaniolo

Age: 19

Position: Attacking Midfield, Central Midfield

Previous Club: Inter Milan

Nicolò Zaniolo has been someone I’ve had an eye for quite some time. The midfielder has been one of the best young talents  in Italy. As we’ve seen him develop in Inter Milan’s youth Academy over the last few seasons. He arrived in Rome being included in the Radja Nainggolan move to Inter Milan. He turned out to be the big part of that move as Roman got their hands on one of the brightest talents in Italy. He has been an absolute Superstar for Inter’s under-19 team quite easily the best player good on the ball as good vision very intelligent for such a young kid. He is just 19 years old and will probably play in Rome as youth team this season. However I think it is quite possible that he makes at least an appearance this season for Roma Senior Team. Roma’s Midfield is packed with incredibly strong players so it’s always going to be difficult to get into that Midfield but it gives him an opportunity to learn under the likes of Danielle de Rossi Javier Pastore and Kevin Strootman. He will continue to develop his skill and ability and as far as his potential it is through the roof he was just part of the under-19 Italy team that made the final of their European championships was viewed along with Moses Kean as one of the best players in the Italy Squad. He will continue with the development he started at Inter Milan at Roma under the right coaching and guidance this kid will only get better as he has Superstar potential in him over the next few years I think we will see him tap into that.

8. Luca Pellagrini

Age: 19

Position: Left Back, Left Midfield, Left Wing

Previous Club: Roma’s Youth Team

Next we have Luca Pellegrini someone I have been raving about for a long time had it not been for his ACL injury last season he would be higher on this list. He has been one of Roma’s biggest stars in their youth team he is arguably the best defender in youth football in Italy. Had he not been injured last season there’s no question in my mind that he would have played solid minutes last season. I don’t think he would have been a starter because Roma had one of the best defensive teams in Italy but I would have liked him as a backup option. He has won the league with this Roma youth team and has been a large part of their success over the last few seasons. He is very Alexandro Florenzi like they are a splitting image of each other. The only difference is Pellegrini plays on the other side of the field he is an exceptional left back and has the ability to play on the left wing or as a left midfielder he is one of the most versatile youngsters and Italy. He is a Roma kid and I believe he will be at this club for the Long Haul last season he extended his contract with the club. This season I think the 19 year old will break into the first team playing some games this season this Roma team is very deep but he’s just too good to play in the Youth League this season. He is the defender of the future I see him slowly transitioning into a first teams player because this kid has star potential.

7. Rick Karsdorp

Age: 23

Position: Right Back

Previous Club: Feyenoord

Another Defender that has missed time due to injury is Rick Karsdorp. He is one of Roma’s older prospects at 23 years old but the Dutch International has immense ability. Karsdorp was brought to Rome last season after being League champions in Holland with Feyenoord he was instrumental in that title-winning campaign that convinced Roma to bring him to the Italian capital. He only played one game last season after picking up a season-ending injury but was very impressive in his debut. He is fully healthy and fit and I think can rotate as the starting right back as he is likely to share time with Alexandro Florenzi. Now that he is fit and ready to go we can really see what he is capable of if he hasn’t lost a step and it was just a minor hiccup Roma have got themselves a tremendous player for this coming season. His passing ability is excellent he’s also quite comparable to Florenzi in terms of what he can do he is very attacking minded and does a great job of creating opportunities from the defense as he often pushes forward. Getting him back is an absolute blessing you never know what’s going to happen with injuries but if something happens to one of Roma starters I think he can slip in there and do wonderful things in the Roma backline. This is another player who’s going to be a part of the future but he’s also a player that can affect the game right now an excellent player that Roma can use this season.

6. Ante Coric

Age: 21

Position: Attacking Midfield, Central Midfield

Previous Club: GNK Dinamo Zagreb

We have arrived to possibly the most talented player of all the bunch. Anton Coric has been dubbed as the next Luka Modric who at the moment is the best midfielder in the world. Forget about the comparisons this kid is special he arrived in Rome this season as the first signing made by the club this summer they stole him from Dinamo Zagreb for a measly 6 million. His down year last season help Roma steal him for such a low price. If we’re just going off Talent purely Talent he’s as talented as anyone on this list the potential this kid has is incredible. At just 21 years old Coric has abilities and the intelligence of a player much older. While this Roma Midfield has so many players upgrade ability Coric will get into this side quite frequently his incredible potential has been on full display this preseason he has shown what he’s capable of. Even though I believe that Roma’s Midfield has improved since last season I think it is quite possible he can break into the starting lineup at some point down the line just like Under did last season. He is a highly skilled and  intelligent midfielder who movement is second to none displays excellent passing his vision is incredible and also has the ability to score goals when the opportunity arrives. He is going to be a great player to have to their disposal because of the kind of influence he can have on a game when he’s at his best is very little this kid can’t do. The only reason he doesn’t find himself closer to the top of this list is because he’s unproven in Italian football but from a talent and intelligence stamp point he is in a league of his own this kid will be a superstar whether it’s this season only time will tell but Coric will be a star in Italian football.
