Zaniolo Scores first Brace as Roma Cruise past Sassuolo in Rome #426

Score: A.S Roma 3 Sassuolo 1FT

Following a tough 1-0 loss to Juventus at the Allianz Stadium Roma return to home to the Stadio Olimpico in a midweek fixture. Roma would welcome Sassuolo to the stadio Olimpico  as Eusebio DiFrancesco gets a shot at his former team and his son Sassuolo midfielder Frederico DiFrancesco. Roma took the season series last season and find themselves just one point behind Sassuolo who has had a surprisingly hot start to the season. After a encouraging performance in their loss to the league leaders Roma displayed a performance of a brilliance. Roma for the superior team throughout the match. In the opening minutes of the match Diego Perotti gave Roma a 1-0 lead through a penalty. Scoring his first goal since the Champions League semi-final last season. Roma continued to dominate the match Patrik Schick doubled it a little later giving Roma 2-0 lead. Roma looked strong throughout the first half and into the second half. Sassuolo wasn’t really giving much of a fight at least it appeared that way for much of the contest. In a historic moment for Nicolo Zaniolo he gave Roma to 3-0 lead to score his first goal in Italian football. Roma continue their domination deep into the game with opportunities to have scored more. Babacar scored late for Sassuolo to bring one back making it 3-1. Despite conceding a late goal it was one of Roma’s best performances of the season. A convincing 3-1 win at the stadio Olimpico in front of the home fans with a excellent performance from Roma finally showing a little bit of consistency and they are now a team with some confidence and momentum on their side. It was a nearly complete performance as the result was never in doubt for Roma. Roma began to get a little healthier and it showed with a terrific home performance. Rome only sit just outside of the top four and are in real striking distance of Champions League football. This was just a performance they needed as Eusebio DiFrancesco Roma outduels his former employer as Roma get closer to the Champions League places with a 3-1 win.

After going with a very defensive formation against Juventus with the 5-3-2 formation Roma went back to what has given them the most success this season. Roma returned to the 4-2-3-1 formation a more attacking oriented strategy in a match they were very capable of winning. In goal as always would be the Swede Robin Olsen. A few changes to Roma’s back line with much of the same who performed  against Juventus. At left back it would be Alex Kolarov. Beside him was the centre-back partnership of Kostas manolas and Federico Fazio. Then occupying in the right back position Roma’s vice-captain Alexandro Florenzi. In Roma defensive Midfield would be the pair of the in-form Bryan Cristante and the experienced Steven Nzonzi. The two of them have performed quite well together over the last month proven to be a formidable Duo. In Roma’s attacking Midfield trio we can see much of the same with a minor adjustment. In central Midfield would be a 19 year old sensation Nicolo Zaniolo who has proven to be a star in the making since filling in for the injured Lorenzo Pellegrini. On the right wing would be Roma’s Turkish super-talent Cengiz Under as he continues to progress as a superstar. Then on the left wing making his first start since September would be Diego Perotti who has recently recovered from an ankle injury. A very skilled young Trio with some experience. Then up front as the main Striker would be Patrik Schick. Eusebio Di Francesco has an exceptionally strong bench this evening with the likes of Justin kluivert Edin Dzeko Javier Pastore among others.

After predictions and preparation for the match it was about to get underway at the stadio olimpico in Rome. Roma manager Eusebio DiFrancesco faces off against the team where he made a name for himself. The match got underway on a Wednesday evening in the country’s capital. In the opening 60 seconds of the game Sassuolo Dominic Berardi hit from deep after Olson was coming off his line the swwdish kepper heroically made the save on the opening chance. Besides that very early chance Roma seem to be in control and a mistake from the defense allowed the Romans to take advantage of an opportunity. While on that the attack Patrik Schick was taken down in the box as Roma cried for a penalty. The referee took a look at the VAR as it showed it was quite clear that Patrik Schick was fouled in The penalty aera as a penalty was given. One of the best penalty-takers in Europe Diego Perotti came forward. The Argentine midfielder completely fooled the goalkeeper as he stuck the ball into the bottom left corner to give Roma the 1-0 in the 8th minute lead after converting from the spot.

Diego Perotti returns as converts from the spot to score his first goal since the Champions League semis.

It was a brilliantly taken penalty giving legal keeper no chance. It will be the first goal Diego Perotti has scored since Champions League semi-final in only his second start of the season after having to deal with some injury problems. Roma had a rare lead and they did a good job controlling the match as they applied themselves as the dominant force in the game. Roma and Sassuolo created some more chances but Roma continued to controlled the game about 10 minutes later Berardi fired from well outside the box but missed leaving Robin Olson unchallenged. Patrik Schick got himself in great position to give an immediate response but missed failing to find a Target after putting his foot through a Diego perotti cross. Just a few minutes later Cengiz Under hit an ambitious strike from Deep just missing the target. In the 23rd minute Bryan Cristante showed his unbelievable vision. As the midfielder sent a superb through-ball in it to Patrick Scheck who cut into the box on a 1 on 1 going around a goalkeeper dropping the ball into the back of the net to give Roma a 2-0 lead. It would be Patrik Schick 2nd goal of the season an excellent Finishing Touch perhaps showing Roma that a loan isn’t needed as he can be valuable asset this season. Just a few minutes later at the half-hour mark  Schick set up the young Nicolo Zaniolo as he came close as his strike narrowly missed. Roma continued control as we began getting closer and closer to putting the game away for good. At the very end of the first half Bryan Cristante tried to supply more involvement in the match but his header coming off a Kolarov cross misfired. At the very end of the first half Diego Perotti saw his shot saved . It would signal the end of the first half with Roma with a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Patrick Schick and Diego Perotti.

Patrik Schick silences the doubters with an exceptional brace to double the Roma lead.

A really excellent first-half in was turning into a excellent performance. Quite easily the more superior team through 45 minutes. It great to see Diego perotti score again after being injured for the majority of the season thus far. It was a little slow to pick up in the start of the second half we did not see the desperation from Sassuolo that we thought we were going to. After a slow start about 10 minutes into the second half the game found life again. Patrik Schick very close to putting the game away for good coming off and Alexandro Florenzi cross the Czech striker had his footing on it but the goalkeeper saved a near goal. Then in the 59th the moment would arrive for Roma’s 19 year old Nicolo Zaniolo a moment he will remember for the rest of his life. Cengiz Under created a breakaway for Nicolo Zaniolo. The youngster ran down the wing with two Defenders on him beating them putting together an exceptional run. Before cutting into the box making a cut move that ended up dropping the defender to the ground in the process and then chipped the keeper as the ball landed in the back of the net to make it 3-0. One of the most disrespectful goals of all time he completely embarrasses their entire team as he scores a unbelievable goal that slightly reminds me of Leo Messi.

Nicolo Zaniolo opens up his Serie A account with one of the goals of the season.

The first goal for Roma the transfer deal that brought him here is now looking like a steal. He ran towards the Roma supporters in Celebration as it truly was an incredible moment. It was one of the best goals in Italian football this season a combinations of technique skill and finesse gives Roma the lead on an unbelievable run. Nicolo Zaniolo got a standing ovation from the Stadio Olimpico a few minutes later as he was subbed off for Javier Pastore. Sassuolo tried to respond through Liora who missed from long-range. A few minutes later Babacar missed wide as they were getting desperate to try to get back into the match. A few minutes later Diego Perotti who also got a round of applause came out for Justin kluivert. We got later into the second half as we Cengiz Under miss wide then kluivert shot from Deep saved by the keeper. Roma would then make their final change of the afternoon bringing in Edin Dzeko for Patrik Schick who was absolutely spectacular. Following the substitution Federico Fazio header went wide from a Justin kluivert cross. Minutes later Genghis under nearly gave Roma another  with a strike from the middle of the box. Kolarov then came close with a shot of his own before Dzeko saw his header go wide. Sassuolo tried to get back into the game with Federico di Francesco who had his shots saved on a breakaway by Robin Olsen. Just a few minutes later Edin Dzeko tried a ambitious strike from deep that was saved. It looked like the game was all but over the three points were certainly assured at that. then in the 90th minute Babacar buried a shot from Deep to bring one back but the results was already confirmed as Roma held on for a 3-1 win in what was one of the most impressive performances of the season besides conceding the late goal it was a wonderful performance from Roma as Roma are starting to look like a complete team once again.

It is all smiles at the Olimpico as Roma win two of three

We saw some serious improvements last weekend against Juventus in there encouraging performance in a losing effort certainly carried over. In the return home to the Stadio Olimpico Roma had one of their best performances of the season. Throughout the entire match there was no doubt Roma was going to win the game. They were in a different class they had complete control of the Midfield broke down the defense and were very clinical in front of goal. One of the exciting things from last week and we saw the return of Diego Perotti who had not appeared in a match since September. He was given the start and he showed quality he is capable of displaying on a weekly basis. Early in the game Roma were given a penalty and there was no debate for discussion on who was going to take it. Diego Perotti stepped up and showed that he still Europe’s best penalty-taker with a cheeky penalty to give Roma the 1-0 lead. Scoring his first goal for Roma since the Champions League semi-finals. Patrik Schick also did a tremendous job in drawing the penalty that allowed Roma to kick in front early. After getting a surprising start Patrik Schick would add to the lead with a tremendous break then ended with him sticking the ball into the back of the net. The Czech Republic Striker silenced his the doubters with a superb performance and goal that allowed Roma to essert their dominance into the game. Roma were quite clearly the better team from the opening kickoff the ball. Roma gave stadio olimpico an excellent performance they are starting to show some progress in hopes of obtaining a Champions League spot. Roma had a clear Advantage Occasionally Sassuolo did provide some Spark but were unable to capitalize on their very limited opportunities. Midway through the second half Nicolo Zaniolo had his historical moment a moment he has been waiting for his entire career. The nineteen-year-old  scored his first goal in Italian football and what a goal it was a goal that displayed the unbelievable quality that he possesses. The goal itself was a little Leo Messi like Roma truly have a treasure and it appears they have stolen a superstar from Inter Milan. He has done a tremendous job since stepping in for Lorenzo Pellegrini he has put in several unbelievable performances it is a goal we knew what you meant really come he continues and continues to improve He is truly a superstar in the making. also a lot of credit must go to Bryan cristante and gangis under who both played a role in facilitating goals in their 3-1 win. therewere several standout performances from the Romans tonight even though Nicolo Zaniolo will steal the headlines and for very good reason but my man-of-the-match was Cengiz Under. it was one of the best games I have seen him play this season he controlled the line of play he got his teammates in involved almost on a consistent basis and provided a fantastic assist along with several key passes. A truly dominating performance on the right-wing for the Turkish Talent. He dominated in dangerous areas almost constantly using his athleticism and pace terrorizing  the left-back all game. we truly got to see how good this team at Can be when everyone is healthy and on the same page. Once Roma get a few more players are back from injury this team will become extremely dangerous once again Edin Dzeko had a late run out as he continues to recover from his injury once this team gets totally healthy they will be a Champions League team. They are only a few points out of Champions League place and evidently if everything’s clicking and Roma’s is mistake-free with all the young Talent they have they can be extremely hard to stop the problem is the consistency if Roma can find a way to fix that there’s no doubt this team can get a Champions League football next season. Another strong performance which has secured the job security of DiFrancesco. Roma take on a PARMA this weekend and if Roma can display another top performance the inconsistency problems can evaporate and this team gets closer and closer to Full health.
