It was a relatively strong first-half for Roma but Torino was not totally out of it as they provided a spark at the end the half. As the game went on it started to rain at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Roma found themselves 2-0 up and mounting Roma for gaining superiority. Torino did not have a lot of chances in that first half it seemed like Roma we’re only going to add more to their goal total. Edin Dzeko came very close in the very with a powerful close-range strike that just didn’t have enough to put it away. Ola Aina came close for Torino with a strike from the side of the box missing the target. Roma were in complete control there was no denying that they constantly were creating chances. However all it takes in football is one moments to break a game open. With great ball movement Torino tried to create an opportunity. Tomas Rincon hit an absolute stunner into the bottom corner getting past Robin Olsen whose Vision was blocked. Making it to 2-1 despite Torino scoring the goal Roma were by far the better team in the second half. Torino just took advantage of an opportunity. Roma tried to respond as Edin Dzeko connected with Nicolo Zaniolo the youngsters shot was blocked by the defense eliminating the opportunity. Despite conceding a goal Roma still looked like the much better team but even so Torino for getting themselves into more opportunities to break into the game. Torino came close through a Andsaldi miss. Nonetheless Torino was pushing on as they took advantage of another opportunity. In the 67th minute Ansladi struck the ball out of the air as it took just enough balance to get out of the reach of Robin Olsen to equalize. Roma was potentially looking at other embarrassment after having been dominated the entire match. Despite that Rome didn’t give up on it and just a few minutes later they would break through. Prior to time resuming Patrik Schick would replace Justin Kluivert. I thought the youngster performed really well but it was the right move to make a change. In the 73rd minute the moment arrived for Roma. Roma were hovering around the box trying to create a chance when Lorenzo Pellegrini caught the eye a Stephan El Shaarawy who made an incredible cut move into the box. El Shaarawy scores the winner as the Stadio Olimpico explodes in excitement

Roma win their 4th straight game in all competitions after El Shaarawy helps Roma avoid a second-half collapse. This game as much as anything displayed Roma’s issues and their strengths. A few months ago they would have been dead in the water the character of this team as of late has proved to be extremely vital. After surrendering a two-goal lead Roma managed to focus and hit back almost immediately to battle past a very good Torino team. El Shaarawy saves the day making an instant impact after a slight collapse. This match started off was more negativity as the injury carousel got a new passenger. Roma’s talented Turkish star Cengiz Under left with an injury in the opening 5 minutes of the game. Stephan El Shaarawy replaced the young star he very much took advantage of his opportunity showing Roma what they have been missing. It truly was a tale of two halves for Roma not to necessarily say they digressed in the second half but they were not at the same level. Nicolo Zaniolo scored yet another world-class goal becoming the youngest player to score multiple goals in a campaign. Nicolo Zaniolo has absolutely proven he is not just one of the best young players in the league he is one of the best players in the league scoring a goal that had the entire Stadium in awe. A Kolarov penalty gave Roma the 2-0 lead Torino fought back and even equalized. Despite that Torino didn’t outplay Roma at any point throughout however El Toro took advantage of their opportunities it was the difference. Roma’s ability to stay focused displaying a great deal of character got themselves to the finish line. A connection between Lorenzo Pellegrini and Stephan El Shaarawy sealed it during a rainy afternoon. It was a very tough match as Roma evaded what would have been a collapse. We saw the positives and the negatives In terms of the way that the team played they could not ask for a better performance I’m not saying this was the best performance of the season but throughout the 90 minutes I thought they played extremely well together. Conceding two goals in the second half like they did needs to be corrected it was a battle and a battle Roma certainly won. Rick Karsdorp got a start after barely being used all season he was absolutely brilliant without question Roma the best defender on the pitch and quite possibly this performance could secure a more permanent role in the team. The trio in the Midfield was close to perfect with El Shaarawy Justin Kluivert and Nicolo Zaniolo creating massive problems all game the youngsters opened up on an almost consistent basis Justin Kluivert and Nicolo Zaniolo may be teenagers but they certainly have not played like them this season I have been so impressed with the pair of them. El Shaarawy late Brilliance was extremely important and a Nicolo Zaniolo gave awesome moments of magic. Today’s man of the match goes to Lorenzo Pellegrini he quietly had an exceptional performance. Supplied the assist to the winning goal. He is the most consistent player on this team he got his team into a great position to win. He also did great work in the defensive midfield an all-around excellent performance. He may not have lit the world on fire but there was not a player on the field today it was more efficient a truly impactful performance. A near collapse but an incredibly resilient and characteristic win for Roma and more importantly for the first time all season they are in the top four in Italian football.
