Yann Karamoh vs Inter Milan

Inter historically over the last several seasons have gotten rid of young talent. They have essentially no youth or Academy presence that the club uses. This weekend Inter Milan had an opportunity and a chance to get back on top of the League after Juventus only getting a point earlier in the day. They faced A Parma team that we’re coming off a few good results over the last few games. On that team is a former youngster that Inter Milan didn’t believe in. Yann Karamoh is a tremendously talented African midfielder who has the potential to be one of the very best in Italy. Inter made the same mistake that they did with Nicolo Zaniolo who they let walk for 2.5 Million. He had not played that many games so far this season since his move to Parma but he made Inter Milan pay for every ounce of it. While he may not a gloated or celebrated he was out here to prove a point and that’s exactly what he did. This is not the first time a youngster that Inter Milan has come back to bite them for that decision. He was absolutely tremendous against Inter Milan he had an opportunity to jump to the top of the league. Yann Karamoh was the reason they were unable to do that. Parma got a 2-2 draw in a match they should have won after Romeu Lukaku’s goal was offsides even though they didn’t call it. Despite that, he was a huge difference-maker. One of the best performers of the week without question. He did everything necessary he’s only played a very limited amount of time but after his performances, last weekend should be initiated into a starting lineup especially with Gervinho and Roberto Inglese the three of them could become a very formal together and possible top 10 finish this year would not be out of the question. Yann Karamoh was absolutely brilliant scoring a goal against his former side and supplying and assist that led to Pram getting a huge point he truly was the difference in the match as a surprising player gets the headlines. He has a tremendous level of talent and he put it to use against a team that didn’t view him as an important asset. Inter Milan is doing great this season but once again an Inter youngster shows and justifies the mistake they continue to make. He has the potential to develop into one of the best young players in Italian football and breathtaking performance like that he didn’t need to speak to make his point. That was some performance from the youngster that I am incredibly excited to see him grown into a special player. With an already attack friendly team they have a young star on the Forefront of it a terrific display without question one of the best performances of the weekend. This isn’t the last time we will be hearing about him I am sure of it.

Christian Kouame

untitled

Genoa picked up a massive three points in the Tiago Motta’s first game as manager. Largely to the adjustments made late in the match. As Christian Kouamé makes a massive difference off the bench. He’s a player that typically starts for Genoa but the manager had a different approach this time. Losing in the game 1-0 to Brescia in the second half he came on and made the biggest difference. Genoa has struggled to find Rhythm and score goals that seemingly was recaptured this weekend. They are deep in the relegation zone and they needed a spark plug to come through in the biggest moments. It was a 4-minute Masterpiece by Christian Kouamé. Moments after he was brought on Genoa equalized. Over the next several minutes Christian Kouamé would deliver the knockout punch. With the score tied he scored an absolutely outrageous bicycle kick the best goal seen this weekend slotting the ball into the bottom corner supplying a world-class finish to a cross coming from the wing. Absolutely filthy display of magic that turned the game on its head. His Masterpiece gave Genoa the lead before a few minutes later he supplied the assist that finished off the game once and for all just minutes after scoring he set up Pandev for their third goal. They pick up three points they absolutely needed. Christian Kouamé is a fantastic player and he performed at a high level this weekend he was the biggest difference in the victory. He is a special player when he is on form he needs to work on his consistency and his ability to show what he can do. He makes this list for the second time this season if they are going to survive relegation they will need all of what we saw yesterday from him and then some. One of the best performances of the weekend every ounce of what he did on that pitch on Saturday was required without it were having a different conversation. He was a spark plug off the bench that made the difference maybe that is the best approach going forward but no matter what the situation Genoa need to find a way to get him involved as much as possible if he can develop more consistency he will drive the team out of the relegation zone over the weekend was a good indication of what he’s capable of with a spectacular display when his team needed him the most he delivered with 4 minutes of absolute magic that was required. If He can develop more consistency there’s no doubt in my mind he will be on this list once again.

Edin Dzeko vs Milan

We saw a masked assassin at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night. In a game and a match that almost felt like Roman needed to win especially after what happened on Thursday night. Edin Dzeko was the difference against AC Milan and he continues to display his unbelievable importance and quality to this club. He is a different type of player this season not only as a leader & captain but as a performer. One of the best performances this weekend without question. He continues to display unbelievable qualities and intelligence and the value he has in this Roma team. This was a big match against AC Milan and the Bosnian lived up to all the hype surrounding him. Edin Dzeko struggled last season with only 14 goals in all competitions. Edin Dzeko has put all that behind them and has been one of the best players in Italian football this season. Under new manager Paulo Fonseca he is really got the best out of him. He had an opportunity and a chance to go to Inter Milan this summer but he decided to show loyalty to Roma as he has performed weekend and week out. He has already six goals this season he has been a huge difference. In the game, on Sunday he came through in the biggest moments. It wasn’t just about the goals he scored it was the impact he had all areas that allow Roma to open up and take advantage of the opportunities. Roma was being outplayed for the majority of the first half until edin Dzeko at his moment. He put himself in a great position as he came through scoring the goal they needed. It was more than that the way he held up the ball going forward taking Defenders with him which in doing so created space for his teammates. It was a tremendous performance in A match they really needed it. Time and time again edin Dzeko is come through for Roma delivering when his team needs him the most. Roma and Milan have significantly struggled it was a huge game to get momentum and the team back on the right track. Even on the second goal, he supplied a pass into Nicolo zaniolo that ultimately led to the winner. It was a perfect delivery. Time and time again he has shown how great he has been at Roma he scored his 93rd goal last night there certainly is more to come as he justified his place in Roman history with another outstanding performance something that we have learned to expect from him.

DONKEY OF THE WEEK: AC Milan (4)

Roma was phenomenal Sunday night and they deserve a ton of credit but it also highlighted the failures of AC Milan. AC Milan will struggle to get it to Europe and at this point maybe even to get into the top half of the table. As it stands they sit in 13th well below the standards and expectations that come with a historic club like AC Milan. AC Milan is one of the most historic clubs in the world but they have lost their way as they have not been relevant for a long time. The issue & the problem with these teams is there’s no identity we don’t know where this team is going or what the plan is. Paolo Maldini is one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport. You can make an argument that he is a top 10 footballer of all time and I think he’s the only Defender that really deserves to be in that conversation. As a footballer, I see A smart intelligent player he was A leader that is a polar opposite of what he has been as A director he hasn’t made one intelligent decision since he’s been in charge. He is blindly putting a team together. This team needs to have A directions and Paolo Maldini clearly doesn’t know how to supply it. The reputation always going to be there because of its AC Milan. However, AC Milan’s isn’t what it used to be anymore. This team is going to struggle to make Europe and if they were to get there they would significantly struggle because of all the poor decision-making being made by Paolo Maldini. With Roma and other teams, you can see that they have a plan in place. Milan doesn’t have a clue on what they’re doing they are signing players that aren’t good enough to wear the shirt and they are hiring new managers every 6 months this sort of strategic approach will be their downfall there season is hanging by a thread they are the donkey of the week yet again. This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Maldini does not have a lot of time to figure this out. The fact of the matter is he’s taking this club backward unless he hires someone to work alongside him that has a better knowledge of these situations it could be a rough couple years for AC Milan there’s no fear if they’re not careful this will implode.
