Wolves rip the head off the eagle as Roma take the city in Derby #1158

Score: A.S Roma 2 S.S Lazio 0FT

Following a tough loss against Inter Milan, Roma had to prepare for another huge game, arguably the last game with any meaning attached to the season. The Derby Della Capitale, otherwise known as the Derby of Rome one of the most fascinating yet malicious derbies and all of European football. For only the second season in 11 years, Roma finished behind their noisy neighbors down the road. However, Roma was determined not to let Lazio beat them twice in a season. Lazio swallowed them can a 3-0 Victory earlier this season. Roma was going to do everything in their power to avoid that and get a massive three points for Paulo Fonseca and his final match in the Derby. A new era is coming with Jose Mourinho, but Paulo Fonseca has yet to beat Lazio until now. Lazio is the better team, but Roma stood their ground, finding opportunities to break them down. At the very end of the first half, edin Dzeko found space to find henrikh Mkhitaryan to give Roma a 1-0 lead after the first half. Can the second half Roma came out much more aggressive, got into dangerous areas and spaces, and ultimately found a moment to kill off the Derby once and for all. Out-of-form Pedro Rodriguez hit a screamer into the back of the net as Roma took a 2-0 lead and the Victory. As Roma Reigns Supreme with a very impressive showing against their City rivals. A perfect way to end the season as lazio’s Champions League Ambitions is crushed against Roma, a perfect Symphony for the Romans.

Roma will operate once again out of the 4-2-3-1 formation. In goal remains Daniel fuzato as the Brazilian get yet another start. I think we can expect that he will finish the season. At left-back would be Bruno Peres beside him would be the center-back partnership of Gianluca Mancini and Rodger Ibanez right-back would be the Flying Dutchman Rick karsdorp. Defensive Midfield would be Bryan cristante alongside Darboe in the Centre of Midfield would be Lorenzo Pellegrini. On the left-wing would be Stephan El Shaarawy, and then on the right-wing will be henrikh Mkhitaryan, then up top is the central Striker would be edin Dzeko getting another start.

After preparations and predictions, the match got underway at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for the Derby Della Capitale, a match that means so much to the city, the fans, and these teams. It wasn’t a game that provided us with many big chances; it kind of took a while for the game to wake up. There was a very early chance from Stefan Lulic 10 minutes into the game as the Serbian Defender put his head through a Lazari cross but ultimately, he misfired on goal. It was very possession-based football for the opening half-hour, and we didn’t see a legitimate opportunity for either team for another 20 minutes. When milinkovic-savic set up Luis Alberto for a crack from inside the box, the Spanish midfielder was denied by Daniel fuzato. Lazio came through again, this time with milinkovic-savic missing from close range. A couple of minutes after the chance, the injury bug stung Roma once again. As a Rodger, Ibanez picked up an injury as he was forced to be replaced as Max kumbulla comes on. Hopefully, Ibanez doesn’t have a serious injury as he was just selected for Brazil national team. Almost immediately, milinkovic savic hit a deep strike, but Daniel fuzato made the play saving the Deep strike. Lazio was the better team, and it showed much of the first half; they were on the offensive while Roma kind of sat back and weren’t able to do much on the attacking front; however, it’s about opportunities, and Roma were about to take one in the 42nd-minute edin Dzeko made a beautiful run prior to going out of bounds at the last second picked out a pass for henrikh Mkhitaryan he fired Roma in front as they took a 1-0 lead. Effectively ending the first half despite not playing very well in the opening 45 minutes, they push themselves in front of the rivals.

Dzeko and Miki connect at the stroke of half time to put Roma in front in the Derby 1-0.

Roma did end up getting the goal at the end of the first half, but it wasn’t necessarily A really outstanding performance through the first 45 minutes. Roma now had to lead and have the opportunity in the second half to take advantage of that and look much more smoothly. That’s exactly what occurred in the second half. David Santon came in for Bruno Peres at the start of the second half. Roma had the superiority in the second half as they showed it very early. Lorenzo Pellegrini was testing the waters with a deep strike to kick things off in the second half. Roma’s approached with much more aggressive, and they were getting after it early. Shortly after, Bryan cristante came very close with a strike from the middle of the box. Roma continues to try to push and look for that second goal. Minutes after Bryan cristante attempt edin Dzeko look for a goal but hooking to the left. Roma went to the bench bringing on Gonzalo Villar and Pedro Rodriguez, which ended up changing the game. Lazio tries to get the momentum back. Ciro immobile was denied by Daniel fuzato and Mohamed Farah Nest from outside the box. Roma stepped on Lazio’s grave in the 78th minute when Pedro Rodriguez, who has been in bad form the second half of the season, found that moment dribbling through to Lazio Defenders before spearing a javelin strike from outside the box into the back of the net beating Pepe Reina as a Roma took a 2-0 lead.

Pedro’s screamer settles the Derby as Roma take down their Rivals

Roma will not be in Europe, and Lazio will finish ahead of them for just the second time in the last 11 years. Pedro refused to let Lazio win the season series; it was a resounding moment as all Roma needed to do is sit back and hold off for the Finish. With a little under 10 minutes to go, Max Kumbula misfired on a header only for Lucas Leiva to do the same. Edin Dzeko with three minutes left to try to extend the lead even further but miss fired from Deep then Francesco acerbi got a second yellow card as he was sent off then in stoppage time, Perreria gave one last chance to Lazio but misfired as the whistle reached full time with Roma regaining superiority in Rome with a 2-0 victory over Lazio even though Fonseca’s departure is coming this summer he got Lazio right before the end. The game contents don’t mean very much other than Roma outdoing their rivals of any chance of Champions League football. Roma wins the Derby for the first time in three years, a truly dominant performance from Roma, who showed a Lazio who’s boss.

The Derby always has significance, even if the match itself doesn’t mean anything much outside of the superiority in the city and the bragging rights of the winning team. However, the performance tonight for Roma was about Pride and respect. Lazio still had a slight chance to make a Champions League but very unlikely regardless; meanwhile, Roma has to accept the fact that Lazio will finish in front of them for the second year in a row. Obviously the previous nine years before that, Roma always finished higher up in the table. Still, by the standards that Lazio try to set last year with pushing and Juventus to the brink, you would have thought we would have a more rezoning response even though they managed to finish ahead of Roma; this year’s been a very inconsistent season. Had Roma been able to keep the momentum from the first half of the season, Lazio probably would not have finished in front of them. However, the facts are the facts; it does not prove superiority. As far as pushing the top of the table, no team has done that more than Roma, at least in recent times, which is why losing twice the Lazio in a campaign was not going to be good enough; it would have been embarrassing. Not because Lazio doesn’t have quality, but Roma has always been the city’s team, and only recently has this rivalry and Derby been actually competitive. Roma usually wipes the floor with them over the last couple of years, it’s become much more clothes, and Roma hadn’t actually won this game in a couple of years. This was a match, but a victory meant the superiority that they have. it was a tough first half where neither team had that many chances patrolling match the score at the end of it, and they scored again in the second half in a controlled performance from Roma as Paulo Fonseca beat Lazio on the way out. While Mourinho is coming in at the wrong time as Lazio seems to have mismanaged their chance. Darboe plays another instrumental role in a big game; he started the last couple of games for Roma. The youngster who battled through being a refugee put together another inspiring performance as Roma beats Lazio in the Derby; he is the man of the match. Roma beat their rivals. Despite that they’re going to finish without Europe this season, they have the last laugh as Paulo Fonseca finally delivers against the city rivals, perfectly ending his tenure.
